We know that hard work equals success, but you need to support your efforts with serious training.
Virtually every day, I hear from FLP distributors who want to know what to do next. Some ask about the pay plan. Some don't understand network marketing at all. I always ask, "Have you asked your sponsor?" Usually the answer is "no". And then I ask if the person has been to the Forever Living training site and gone through all the modules. Again, the answer is usually "no". I tend to lose patience at that point.
Success requires lots of training, and FLP has plenty of it available, but it has to be viewed and put into practice! Saying you want to earn a six figure income selling aloe juice but then not taking the time to go through the training says to me that you're not serious. If you can't spend a couple of hours learning from the pro's how to build your business, why should I think you'll do anything else productive? At the very least you need to understand the FLP marketing plan, and the Forever site explains it in detail.
So impress your sponsor. Know more than he does! The information is out there. Go get it!

MLM sponsors shouldn't abandon their new recruits. But they do.
by Tim W Flowers
"Before I registered she was all friendly, coming to my house and calling me on the phone all the time. Once I registered almost 3 weeks back I've not heard from her." -- real comment seen on Facebook.
This comment is heard far too often in the world of network marketing. Sponsors are all over you like used car salesmen until the ink dries on the distributor application, and then, where do they go? What happens to the support, training, and encouragement you were promised? Will your sponsor return your phone calls or reply to your emails? Do you suddenly find yourself alone, confused, and lost in your new mlm career? I can relate. It's happened to me several times. Even the sponsors who promised they would "never do that" can't be found after a week or two. What's going on?
In some cases, sponsors sign up one or two people then get discouraged when their six figure income doesn't magically appear. So they quit, or they get lured away to another mlm and begin hunting for new victims...er, distributors. They may not try to recruit you to their newest venture out of embarassment, and if that's the case, be thankful. They'll leave you high and dry at the next one, too.
In other cases, these "serial recruiters" simply forget about you, or don't really care about you. They're totally focused on numbers. The more distributors the better! All they want to do is build a massive downline, and in their minds, some will sink and some will swim. If they can find a handful of strong swimmers they'll make their fortune, so it doesn't matter if a bunch sink to the bottom. Survival of the fittest, you know.
You deserve better. Sponsors have a responsibility to train and support their downline. It's not just a good idea, it's part of the legal agreement we all sign when we join a network marketing company. Enforcement of the provision is inconsistent at best, but if you find yourself stuck in a bad mlm relationship, contact your corporate office and politely ask what your options are. Many companies will let you switch to a new sponsor if you've only been in for a short while and haven't built a downline yet. If you have a downline, you'll most likely have to lose it if you change sponsors. Rules vary by company so be sure to ask.
If you're a sponsor who signs 'em and forgets 'em, stop it now. It's dishonest and unethical to lure people into your business with dreams of wealth and a better lifestyle and then abandon them like yesterday's news. People sign on with real hopes and expectations, and they believe you when you say you'll help them reach their goals. When you don't live up to your responsibilities, you hurt not only your recruits, but also your personal reputation and the credibility of our entire industry.
You're not that selfish, are you?

Success requires being honest about your efforts.
by Tim W Flowers
Spend much time online and you'll find dozens of people who have started their own home based business. Talk to the same people in a month or two, and a large percentage will have already quit or switched over to a different company. They'll give you all kinds of reasons for their lack of success at the first company: high prices, lack of support, bad management, outdated websites, or no public interest in the business or products.
Does this sound like you? Are you failing in your business or jumping from one to another, making excuses the whole time as if none of your problems are self-inflicted? Be honest. Really honest.
Okay, maybe none of it is your fault. Let's check.
How many business cards did you hand out last week? (You do have professionally printed cards, don't you?) Did you hand out 5, 10, 20? Sorry, that's not enough. Fifty should be your minimum goal, and 100 or more would be ideal. Brochures, catalogs, and samples count toward your total as long as your contact information is on them.
Do your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers know you've started a home business?
Are you using your company's products and becoming enthusiastic about them? Remember that "sales is the transference of enthusiasm". Even if you hate the idea of selling things, if you're getting good results from your products you're much more likely to tell others about your experience. And that's a good first step toward making a sale.
Do you have an online presence? The replicated website provided by your company is the best choice for most of us, as these sites generally have online selling and distributor sign-up capabilities, in addition to providing a professional image. You could build your own site, but the time you spend doing this could be better spent talking to prospects.
Is your online time spent promoting your business or are you surfing the web finding all kinds of pleasant distractions, including forums, Facebook posts, and ads from competing companies that try to convince you that your company isn't as good as theirs?
What percentage of your time is spent in actual business building activities as opposed to organizing your office? Staying busy isn't the same as building a business.
Are you going to any local meetings held by your company or other distributors within your company? Even if it's an introductory meeting for prospects, going to the meetings gives you visibility and is a great show of support for others in the business. You might just learn a few things, too!
Now think again about my question: Are you failing in your business or jumping from one to another, making excuses the whole time as if none of your problems are self-inflicted? Is your lack of success the fault of some external condition, or is the problem coming from within? Is your motivation strong enough to create success? And are your efforts truly strong enough and massive enough to take you where you're trying to go?
Success requires being honest about your efforts. And that means being honest with yourself.

Grow your home business by giving it away!
by Tim W Flowers
In our internet age, we tend to get so caught up with the latest systems touted by various gurus that we forget about the simplest, yet most effective, business building methods. Sure, it's fun to set-up a new "squeeze" page and pat ourselves on the back for being so technically brilliant, but at the end of the day, did you sell anything? I don't know of any mlm comp plans that reward you for generating a lead.
You only get paid when products move out of the warehouse, so with that in mind, let's look at a really simple way to introduce your products to potential customers without adding any stress or anxiety to your day. Put away your dvd's, catalogs, and brochures because this doesn't involve telling or selling of any kind.
The method is: give your products away as gifts. I'm not talking about randomly handing out freebies, which will do nothing but devalue your business. I'm talking about carefully choosing a specific product for a specific prospect (friend, neighbor, co-worker, family member, etc.) that the recipient will appreciate and actually use. Wrap the product as a gift, or at least put a ribbon or bow on it, and then give it away as something special. This can be done for a friend's birthday, a co-worker's employment anniversary, or as a "just because" gift. Make a big deal of it, but don't taint it by handing out a catalog or brochure at the same time...that would change the gift to a sales ploy. Just give the gift to your targeted prospect, graciously accept the "thanks", and move on.
How will this help your business? First, in many cases it's cheaper to give out products than buying leads or spending hours creating websites. Second, you're putting a real product into a real prospect's hands. Nothing beats that. Third, your prospect will now feel indebted to you, at least to some degree, and they'll be much more likely to buy products from you in the future At the very least, they'll welcome the latest catalog and perhaps be willing to hear a 5 minute opportunity presentation later on. As long as you've carefully matched the product to the prospect, your small investment will open doors and soften the landing for when you're ready to take the business relationship to the next level. You'll certainly build your retail base and you'll probably find your next business builder. At worst, you've spent $5 to $10 on a friend, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that!
Make a list of people you can give gifts to, tally up the cost, then compare it to the time, energy, and money spent on other business building methods. I think you'll find that turning your products into gifts is ultimately a very cost-effective way to build the retail side of your business, as well as helping you find your future leaders.

Focus and commitment will send your income soaring.
by Tim W Flowers
"FACT: Not one single $100,000 per month network marketing earner on the planet does multiple deals. Nor do they mess around with ANYTHING that takes them away from the one thing they are doing. If you can prove me wrong, I'd love to see it. Moral of the story: FOCUS people. FOCUS." -- Todd Falcone
I read Todd's statement this morning and I totally agree. We're faced with constant distractions keeping us from actually building our business, and some of these distractions are tools we thought would actually help us: cell phones, Twitter feeds, Facebook, and emails that find us wherever we go. Those things alone, if not handled with discipline, can burn up hours of time and make us think we're working our business rather than just staying busy. But as they say in those TV infomercials...'but that's not all!' As online marketers we also have our company's "backroom", any marketing systems we're subscribed to, maybe instant messaging or chat rooms, forums, traffic exchanges, and endless offers from other marketers trying to lure us to their business or business building "tool". Faced with all this, it's a wonder any of us ever sell anything!
And it gets worse! Many home business entrepreneurs join a good solid program but get lured into joining one or more additional businesses, thinking multiple streams of income are safer than just one. In theory it seems like a good idea, but in reality, you end up so overwhelmed and distracted by all the activity required to keep everything going that it's just like running on a treadmill: lots of energy is burned up but you're not going anywhere!
The better course of action is to spend a good week or two researching all your options, and then signing on with one really good, really solid home business opportunity. You want stability but you also want growth, so make sure you find out if your potential business partner is trending up or falling apart. Other than catching a cheating spouse, nothing is more disappointing and demotivating than working your tail off trying to build a downline and then having your company fold out from under you. And it happens...a lot, especially among start-ups and "businesses" that promise millions yet don't seem to have any real products to sell. So choose carefully.
Then once you're signed on, using your company's products, and doing all the proper and basic things you need to be doing to create sales and attract new distributors to your team, keep doing it! Increase your efforts! Do more of what's working and less of what isn't. Put on blinders and stay focused on your goals. Don't make the mistake that so many do and begin experimenting with new ventures, untested marketing tactics, and endless training by the mlm guru of the month. You're not the first person who has tried to build a downline or sell vitamins and soap online, so don't think you're smarter than the rest of us and attempt to blaze your own trail. At least "Google" it to see if your great idea has been tried before.
Bottom line: Join a winner. Do the proven basics. And "FOCUS people. FOCUS."
